三郷市の写し霊場「新四国四箇領八十八箇所霊場」をめぐってみよう              Let’s go around 88 utsushi sacred places in Misato. 

  Now that there are various means of transportation such as railroads and planes, many people are enjoying their trips. Among them, shrines and temples are visited all over the country as a popular power spot tour.

 

One of the starting points for people to enjoy traveling in this way is that  travel was popular during the Edo period. Even though travel became popular, people's means of transportation was basically walking. As a result, there were many problems such as physical condition, travel time, and accommodation expenses, and some people couldn't do it even if they wanted to.

 

 The utsushi sacred place was established there. A "utsushi sacred place" is a pilgrimage to a place designated as a temple, and you can get the same benefit after pilgrimage to the real  sacred place(88 sacred sites in Shikoku) or (33 Kannon sacred sites in Saigoku) was as supposed to be. It can still be seen all over the country under names such as "New Shikoku Pilgrimage".

 

"It is one of the utsushi sacred sites" established around Misato City. Let's take a look at the local "copying sacred place".

Explain the term

Fudasho

  A sacred place to visit is a temple. Due to the custom of dedicating bills to the proof of worship, the name "Fudasho" was given.

 

Junrei (Pilgrimage)

 A person who worships or pilgrimages to the sacred place.

 

Shikoku 88 kashoreijo (88 Shikoku pilgrimage Place)

 Its calls "Ohenrosan" or "Shikoku hennro". A pilgrimage to the land related to Kobo Daishi Kukai, who opened the Shingon sect in the early Heian period.

Kobo Daishi Kukai is from Sanuki no KuniKagawa Prefecture), and has been awared Koyasan(Wakayama Prefecture) and Toji Temple (Kyoto Prefecture) by the emperor, and has made various achievements. It is said that he practiced in the Shikoku region, and at that time he chose a temple and opened 88 sacred sites in Shikoku. People have been pilgrimages since the early Edo period, and many people are still pilgrimages.
