 The City Council is the legislative body of the city, which decides the directions of the city including its budget and settlement of accounts, making ordinances and city policies. It also plays the role of checking if the city administration is conducted rightly or not. The city council is consisted of 24 persons elected by the citizens.

  Anyone who wishes to observe the meetings of the City Council may do so by filling out his/her address and name at the entrance of the hall on the 7^th floor of Misato City Hall (60 seats and space for wheel chairs are available).

  The proceedings that contain a record of speeches and other notes made at the routine and temporary meetings are compiled per meeting. It is posted on the Misato City Council website below or Municipal administration information comers and libraries etc are available.

  One who wishes to vote on an election must register his/her name on the electoral roll. Applicable citizen is the one who is at the age of 18 or older holding a Japanese nationality and has been registered on the Basic Resident Record for 3 months or more from the date when his/her Resident Record was created. Registration are made four times a year (in March, June, September, and December) as regular registrations and at the time of election.

  The votes should be conducted by filling in a ballot by a voter him-/herself at a polling place on the election day in principle; however, following voting methods are also acceptable:

1. Advance voting
2. Absentee voting by post (prior application required)
3. Braille voting
4. Proxy voting

 ‘Municipal Archives Room’ is located on the 4^th floor of Misato City Hall (main building). [Monday through Friday, from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. *Starting from February 2^nd ,2026]. Should you have any inquiries about the city’s administrative information, please use the materials there.

 Documents related to the city administration including booklets of comprehensive plan, statistics, and personal information registry are available.

 In accordance with Misato City information disclosure ordinance and the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, Misato City accepts your request for disclosure of information related to the city administration and request made by the person in question for disclosure of his/her personal information retained by the city.

  Fill in your name, address, the subject and content of information you are requesting and submit it to Municipal Archives Room.

*As in the case of a request for disclosure of retained personal information based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information identification documents must be presented at the time of request for disclosure and actual disclosure.

*Handling fee will be charged 100 yen per record
